Consuelo Duron Rodriguez Obituary
CONSUELO DURON RODRIGUEZ "MAMI" passed away at home with family by her side, on February 1, 2018, at the young age of 92. She was the loving wife to Jose Isabel Rodriguez Rodriguez for 71 years, who passed away recently on December 17, 2017.
She was the loving mother of 8 children: Lydia Rodriguez Thompson, Jose Fidel Rodriguez, Jose Albert Rodriguez (deceased), Jose Richard Rodriguez, Consuelo Maria Rodriguez-Puccetti, Mary Lucinda DeMoss, Mary McClure, and Maria Cristina Rodriguez-Karl. She was also the caring mother-in-law to all the spouses of her children and cherished her 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great- grandchildren. She was truly blessed with so much family. Mami had 13 siblings, four still living: 2 who live in San Jose, California - Lucinda Estebane and Nachita Martinez, as well as Cristina Duron who lives in Texas and Danny Duron who lives in Perris, California. She has also left behind 28 nephews and nieces and their 99 children and their grandchildren.
She was born in Torreón, in the state of Coahuila, Mexico on April 30, 1925 and attended nursing school at the University of Torreón. As a young woman she loved to read, to design dresses, to write, and being out in nature. She met her loving husband Jose, in Puebla, Mexico, while he was studying to be a doctor, and she a missionary as a teacher. They had three children before moving to the United States for a better future. They were blessed with five more children in the U.S.A.
Education was very important to her. She had been an elementary school teacher in Mexico. She loved to read the bible with her husband and children. She expressed her love by sharing her vast knowledge and wisdom with her family. She enjoyed classical music, art, playing the piano, working in her garden, and loved taking long walks with her husband in Fairmount Park.
She loved and nurtured her children and grandchildren, loved God, and the U.S.A., just like her husband. Our Mami will be missed by all, but she left a legacy - she will always live in the hearts of the many people she touched. She is now in heaven with her parents, her son Albert, and is with her much cherished husband once again. She now rests in eternal peace.
