DANIEL BRUCE MURDOCH Daniel Bruce Murdoch, of Riverside, CA, passed away November 9, 2014 at the age of 68 in his home. He was born on September 19, 1946 in Long Beach, CA to Colin and Margaret Murdoch, but spent most of his life in the Riverside area. After graduating Rubidoux High School in 1963 he spent the next 4 years serving our country in the United States Navy as a Radioman from 1964-1967. While serving our country, he married Diane Voboril and they had two sons Daniel Bruce Murdoch Jr. and Darin James Murdoch. In 1979, while working for the Gas Company, he met our mother Sharon Harrod Murdoch. They married on May 19, 1984. They were inseparable; together they participated in company functions, camping, bowling and golf leagues with his co-workers and lifetime friends. They recently celebrated their 30-year wedding anniversary and Dan recently retired from a career of more than 30 years working for the Southern California Gas Company, at the Riverside base. He was an avid deep-sea fisherman. Along with his friends and son, Darin Murdoch, he made numerous trips and frequently traveled to Mexico on fishing excursions. Many times they would return with bigger stories of adventures, than fish. He had a contagious smile and a sincere laugh that would radiate throughout a room. Survived by his wife Sharon Murdoch; brothers: Colin Murdoch and Richard Murdoch; sisters Lois Langley and Trudie Barnes; his sons and daughters: Danny Murdoch, Craig Hogle, Roy Harrod and Holly Harrod. Monica Gaynor, Michelle Hogle and Karli Harrod; his grandchildren Josh, Jessica, Brendan, Janae, Jonah, Jaden, David, Brooklyn, Hannah, Hank, Jeremy, Hope and Sophie; and great-grandchildren Extonn, Jasper and Jocelyn. Special thanks to his lifetime friends and extended family: Lindy Ozasa, John and Kathy Halverson, Ray and Lawanda Roberson, Darryl Botello, and the Swenson Family. His parting will leave an unfathomable hole in our hearts and lives. His spirit will be with us eternally. Burial services to be held at the Riverside National Cemetery December 3rd @ 2pm. Reception to follow at Jurupa Hills Golf Course in Riverside. No children is requested due to limited seating.
