David Loy McNair Obituary
DAVID LOY MCNAIR Age 85. Dave was born in Osceola, Iowa on October 26, 1927. He died unexpectedly in Vista on June 20, 2013. Dave came to Riverside as a child and graduated from Poly High. He married his wife, Betty Ann, of 63 years in 1949. Dave started in the Army, first in Europe then Korea. Upon returning to Riverside, Dave began one of his many service station ventures that culminated in McNair's Auto Service; still in the Brockton Arcade. He enjoyed his membership at Riverside Rancheros and was a 50+ year member of the Riverside Exchange Club of Magnolia Center. After retirement, he was content spending his afternoons in his garage woodworking, tending to his avocado and macadamia nut grove and spending time with his family. Dave enjoyed a full life of good friends and lots of adventures with Betty Ann and their children, David Jr., who preceded him in death; Michele Dancey, her husband Bob; and Stacy Dial, her husband Troy; as well as his 4 grandchildren and great granddaughter. Throughout the years, Dave brought his family and friends together waterskiing, camping, riding motorcycles in the desert, spending summers in Newport Beach, attending horse shows around the US, boating along the California coast, traveling in the RV and his most recent adventure, beekeeping. He was a devoted caregiver to his wife Betty Ann and her battle with Alzheimer's. After her passing he spent the last few years working side by side with his daughters in their family business. We are heartbroken by his passing but have no doubt about his love and devotion to us and we invite all who were blessed to know him to join us and celebrate his life. Graveside Service: 2:00, Monday, July 1, Riverside National Cemetery. Reception: 3-6pm, at Back Street Restaurant, 3735 Nelson St., Riverside. Contact: Michele Dancey [email protected] Memorial donations in Dave's name may be made to the Exchange Club of Magnolia Center Scholarship Fund.
