David Palmerin Obituary
DAVID PALMERIN, age 83, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from cancer at home surrounded by family. He was born on 8/01/1932 in Riverside, CA. He was a resident of Riverside for 56 years, previously in San Jose for 3 years. He was an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic most of his career at: Food Machinery in Riverside and San Jose, CA.; Roar in Riverside; and Fruehauf in Ontario, Ca. The following 3 companies were located in the same building on Jefferson St., Riverside, Techite, Amaco and Progressive Wheels where he retired from. Humorous legend has it that David went with the building with each company change over. On December 15, 2013 David received the Mighty Senior Moment "Commitment to Others and Community" award presented by the County Mexican American Historical Society. David was always there to lend a helping hand. Although he was an electrician by trade, his hobby was an auto mechanic. In his spare time he helped hundreds of people save on repair costs on their vehicles. He also had a passion for restoring vintage cars. He built his own hot rod and received many trophies for drag strip racing. He also played several positions for several baseball leagues. David was preceded in death by his wife Ramona Palmerin; daughter Annette Palmerin Ayala; sons: Paul and Philip Palmerin; father: Joe Palmerin. He is survived by his daughters: Rita Sohn Buh and Linda Palmerin Bustos (and caregiver); son David Palmerin Jr.; daughter-in-law Nancy Palmerin, and sons-in-law Don Buh and Steve Bustos, all from Riverside. His mother Mary Palmerin is still surviving at the age of 102 years. He is also survived by his brother Richard Palmerin Sr., of Riverside; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Visitation: Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside. Burial/Interment to follow at 1:30 pm at Olivewood Cemetery. Celebration of Life will follow burial at the American Legion Hall, Fairmount Park, Riverside.
