Deborah Louise "Debbie" Holcomb Obituary
DEBORAH "DEBBIE" LOUISE HOLCOMB Debbie left us all too soon on Oct. 7, 2016, losing her battle with cancer. Debbie was born in Riverside, CA on Feb 17, 1951. She graduated from Poly High School in 1969, and later attended UCR, after which she was employed by Eastman Dillon Stock Brokers. Debbie and her parents later bought Al Johnson Florist, which they owned and operated for 27 years. Debbie loved classical music, gourmet cooking, Renaissance art, Formula One racing, and all animals, especially her cats. She was a beautiful, brilliant woman who was also very down-to-earth and genuine. She was kind and generous, with a wicked sense of humor and a quick, contagious laugh. She could be as eloquent as a scholar or as salty as a sailor. Debbie was pre-deceased by her loving parents, Edith "Edie" Holcomb and former Riverside City Councilman Wayne Hedger Holcomb. She is survived by her loving brother, David K. Holcomb, of Riverside, and his daughters Shannon and Michelle Rock. She will be dearly missed by Gary Hillman, her love and soul mate. She leaves behind her dear cousins, Tammy Perod (husband Jim and children Stephanie and Ian); Cheryl Davenport (and husband Eric); aunt Judy Misener; and precious friends Peggy Paxton and Linda Sellaro (all of Riverside), who lovingly cared for her in her last few months. She is also survived by her beloved cousins Sheila McNichols, Christine Keil, David Keil, and Claudia Keil; and Jana Pendergrass-Myers and dear friends Tony and Katie Platt (children, Anthony and Deborah). A celebration of her life will be held on Sat., Nov. 19th at 11:00 am at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 4495 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church.
