Dennis Allen McMahon Sr. Obituary
DENNIS ALLEN MCMAHON, SR. "Wish you were here. . ." Dennis Allen McMahon Sr., was born in Jersey City, NJ to George and Gertrude, on October 31, 1948, and was the youngest of 3 siblings Mel (brother) and Shirley (sister). After a rambunctious upbringing, due to being the youngest child, with multiple school changes and the death of his father at the age of 17, his brother Mel seized an opportunity and enlisted Dennis in the Air Force. During the height of the Vietnam war, Dennis was saved from the front lines and flew Lockheed Constellations (Connie's) out of Thailand. After his service ended, Dennis returned to the USA and traveled from coast to coast looking for a place to plant his roots. After being drawn to the golden images of California during the 70's, Dennis found Southern California (Riverside) to be his new home. On a blind date, he met and immediately fell in love with Kathy Lynne Keene. After a brief courtship, Dennis and Kathy married December 10th, 1977. Driven by building a family, Dennis and Kathy had two boys, Dennis Jr. (1980) and George (1982). Dennis built a career in tele-communications, intent on providing the best for his children and his wife. Dennis became Lord of backyard BBQ's, Master coach for all children's sports, and King of family vacations. Dennis instilled in his children a strong moral compass, pressed importance on humor and zest for life, and emanated joy and love felt by all who came in contact with him. His sons are now charged with fulfilling his legacy, by supporting his wife, their mother, and continuing the traditions Dennis set forth in his life. Dennis will be celebrated with festivities for west coast family October 20th, and on Nov 3rd with his extended Utah family.
