DEWAYNE "WIL" WILSON Born August 8, 1936 in Bobtown, Pennsylvania, Wil died January 15, 2014 in Moreno Valley, California, after being diagnosed late last year with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maureen, and their three children, daughters Kathy Dale and Lynne Wilson, both of Moreno Valley, and son Mark Wilson and his wife, Mary Kay Malinoski, of Catonsville, Maryland. Also survived by granddaughters Jennifer McDonagh (Matt) of Beaumont and Kristen Sweeney (Brandon) of Running Springs; great-grandsons Michael and Zachary McDonagh, and soon-to-be great-granddaughter Madison Sweeney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Barbara, brother Tom, and Kathy's husband Tom. Wil enlisted in the Air Force in 1954, retiring in 1977 while stationed for the second time at March Air Force Base. He followed his Air Force career with another 18 years in federal civil service, helping to open the VA hospital in Loma Linda and then with the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Laguna Nigel until his official retirement in 1995. He enjoyed watching football - particularly providing his own colorful commentary on the officiating - and outings to the casinos, both locally and in Las Vegas. He traveled a bit in his early retirement, getting in a round of golf at St. Andrews in Scotland, visiting Maureen's family in England, hunting in Pennsylvania, and attending the annual Wilson Family reunion near his hometown. Wil will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A gathering to remember him will be held at the family home at 25158 Aleppo Way, Sunday, January 26th from Noon to 4 PM. Inurnment will be at Riverside National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 28th at 10 AM. The family suggests donations in his memory and in honor of great-grandson Michael McDonagh to the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation at www.pmsf.org
