DOMINICK "NICK" RUSSO Age 89, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Corona following a full and exciting life. He leaves his oldest son Bob and wife Rachele Russo, son John and wife Joanne Russo, daughter Angie and husband Danny Ridenour, son Marty Russo and stepdaughter Lesley Thouvenell. Grandkids include, Asher & Trinity Ridenour, Dominick King, Jacqueline Russo, Serinna and husband Kyle Eason, Brianna and husband Travis Tolibas, Little Bobby Russo (deceased) and Eathan Thouvenell. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, the son of Carmine and Maria & Angelina Russo and surviving him is his sister Grace Cacozza and brother John A. Russo. After joining the United States Navy at the age of 17, Nick was stationed on a LST ship which served at the Invasion of Normandy (D-Day). This epic battle foreshadowed the end of World War II. In his early years, Nick married Rose Sciacca (deceased) and moved from New York to California and there he started his family. In the early 1970's, he met his second wife Alta Russo (deceased) and he was rooted in Norco for the following 30 years and Beaumont, CA for the most recent 12 years. Nick worked for the L.A. Fire Department as an electrician and after a few years Nick became an entrepreneur in various businesses, he owned gas stations, night clubs and finally settled into real estate sales and real estate development in the early 1970's. Nick sold thousands of homes, most notably the Sky Country Development, Mira Loma for Lou Laramore, and built several hundred new homes including housing tracts and apartments. Nick was a mentor to both of his oldest sons, John and Bob who followed in his footsteps. Nick had a passion for helping people and rarely ever turned down an opportunity to be of assistance to others. Being a "jack of all trades" his phone was always ringing from family and friends, and the conversations would always end with him saying "I'll be right over". An avid sports enthusiast, he loved sports and his heart was captured by West Coast Teams, The Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Rams as he was very excited to see the Rams coming back to LA.
