Dona Carol VanHull Obituary
DONA CAROL VAN HULLE, beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother and friend, was born on June 30, 1949 in Wareham, Massachusetts to James Cost and Madeline Cost (Shadid). As an Air Force pilot, James (Jim) would soon be stationed in Okinawa Japan, where Dona would spend a few early years learning both English and Japanese. Dona is survived by her mother who still resides in Riverside, California where Dona attended Chemawa Middle School, and graduated from Ramona High School in 1967. Dona passed away June 8, 2015 after many years of battling illness. In 1968 Dona married Thomas Hermon, and had two sons, Derek Hermon and Michael Hermon, and is also survived by her current husband Ralph Van Hulle and four grandchildren, Alek, Quinn, Madison, Siena, and her dog Diva. In 1998 Dona married Ralph who rode a horse to the site of his marriage proposal dressed as a knight in shining armor, and Ralph continued to be her knight in shining armor throughout their marriage. Dona was an exceptional friend willing to give selflessly to others in need, including comforting Janet (Jan) Mosier at the end of her life as she battled with terminal cancer. Dona will always remain in the hearts of her family, friends and those she lovingly cared for. A service will be held at the Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary chapel on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 10:30 am, followed by a burial at Olivewood Memorial Park, Riverside, where she will rest near her friend Jan.
