Donald R. Jameson Obituary
DONALD R. JAMESON, D.D.S. Donald R. Jameson, D.D.S. passed away at his home Dec. 6, 2016 with his beloved wife of 69 years, Ruth Ann, by his side. Born April 30, 1927, Don was one of six children born to Mary and Walter Jameson in Riverside, Calif. At Polytechnic High School, he excelled in athletics, and according to a notable number of his buddie's dedications in his year book, Don was "a swell guy." It was in high school where he met and fell in love with Ruth Ann Stanton who also thought he was special. As she lovingly inscribed to him on her school picture, "To Donnie: a better person never lived." Don was in training to be a naval officer when World War II ended. He and Ruth Ann married in 1948, and together they worked to put Don through school where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from USC. They moved back to Riverside and Don started his dental practice which would serve the community for 36 years. A patient, caring, and shy man who loved his family and a good round of golf, Don was also a tinkerer who could fix about anything that needed fixing. And he was always looking for things to fix for his family. As a dedicated dentist, he cared about his patients; he not only provided excellent dentistry, but allowed small payment plans so his patients could afford good dental care. Don is survived by Ruth Ann and their four children: Greg Jameson (Jolane), Jill Jameson (Frank), Holly Oxford (David), and Kathleen Jameson (Judi). He is also survived by four grandsons: Dustin, Kane, Justin, and Jay, three great-grandchildren, his brother Walter "Roddy" (Cindy) and his beloved dog, Casey. A service for Don will be performed at the Riverside National Cemetery, on Tuesday, December 20, at 11 a.m., followed by a gathering of family and friends at his home.
