Donald Robert Lewis Obituary
DONALD ROBERT LEWIS, age 86, a resident of Corona, California for 50 years, passed away and entered eternal peace and rest on Friday, April 8, 2016. He was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on August 1, 1929, to Leon and Dorothy Lewis. He grew up in Fort Madison with an evangelical Christian faith and attended the University of Iowa where he graduated with a M.A. degree in Physical Education and a minor in Social Sciences. He served in the Army as a Corporal and Psychiatric Social Worker. He was a well-known, respected, dedicated coach and teacher at the University of Minnesota and Corona High School before retiring. Some of his greatest joys were listening to jazz music and watching sports, especially college football. Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife Marilyn; son Brian Robert Lewis; his brother Warren Lewis; and his grandson Daniel Robert Lewis. He is survived by his two adult children, Kirk and Leanne; six grandchildren and three adorable great grandchildren. He is remembered not only by his family and loved ones, but also by the numerous students who he taught and coached. Committal service with Honors will be held on Friday, April 22 at 9:15am at Riverside National Cemetery which is located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
