DONALD STANLEY Don was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 1, 1939. He moved to California at the age 3 months with his family where his father was stationed at Coronado Naval Station. He met Pat in Jr. High School where they dated for 2 years (1954-1956). Don graduated from Mar Vista High School in 1956. Pat and Don reunited in 1985 in Los Angeles, California and married in North Hollywood, California. Don had many hobbies including car racing (Jeff Gordon was his favorite), fishing, camping, cooking and his dogs. He loved spending time with his grandchildren Patti, Chrissi, Ashlynne and his great-grandchild, Kayla. He loved taking them to dinner, car racing and Disneyland. Don first came to Corona, California in 1963, where he and his father owned the Gulf Station located in Corona. He worked at several mobile home manufacturing plants and retired from Silvercrest in 2008. He then went to work for Lancer Homes until his illness in 2012. Don was a devoted son, husband and one of the greatest grandpa's. He was called "Pop-Pop" by his grandchildren. Don left behind 4 children, Debbie Lemmon of Idaho, Denise Fishel of Orange County, Donald Stanley III of Corona and Diana Spain of Corona. Don also had an extended family of step children, William Powell Jr. (deceased) and Mitzi Powell of Chapel Hill, N.C., John and Paige Armstrong of Corona. Don left behind 7 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter, one sister Deanna Hemming of Pleasanton, California and his mother Dorothy Stanley of Pleasanton, California. Don's affiliations: Bowling League, Elks Club (20 years), Womens club spaghetti dinner (started dinner in 1996), Navy League, and Coronaires. Memorial service will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary on Monday, 10/8 at 11am.
