Earl Daughdrill Obituary
EARL DAUGHDRILL Age 95, retired owner of The Nuevo Market in Nuevo, died at the Veteran's Hospital in Loma Linda, CA, August 7, 2015. He was born in Nauvoo, Alabama, February 20, 1920. In 1967, Earl and his wife built, opened and operated the Nuevo Market in Nuevo, CA. Earl loved to travel throughout the United States and Europe. His travels took him to the mid-west and southern states and he visited France, England, Scotland, Belgium, Wales, Poland and Germany. Music was his source of inspiration, including big band, pop and gospel. Earl was drafted during WWII and served in the 60th armored infantry battalion. During the Battle of the Bulge, his battalion was assigned to General Patton's unit as a support group. They were called the "bastard battalion" because they were not assigned to any one division. He was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by a daughter RuthAnn of Riverside; three sons, Gary of Palm Springs, Barry of Atwater and Tim of Parma, Idaho; one brother, Criss Edward Jr., of Berea, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Chapel Services: Thursday, August 13, 11:30am at Acheson & Graham. Burial at the Riverside National Cemetery, 1:01pm.
