Ednae Lenore (Tindell) Stephens Obituary
EDNAE LENORE (TINDELL) STEPHENS passed peacefully at her home in Sun City, CA on October 19, 2014. Known as "Eddy" by her family and friends, she was born October 11, 1922 in East Nicholaus, CA to Alfred and Elva Tindell. She was the 5th of eight children and was raised in the Sacramento Valley area, graduating from Placer Union High School in Auburn, CA in 1940. Ednae enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in August 1943 and served as a radio operator at MCAS Santa Barbara until November 1945, where she met her husband Irving P (Bud) Stephens. The Stephens' raised their three sons in Santa Barbara and Orange, CA, later moving to Riverside, then Sun City. Ednae worked as a secretary to Assemblyman James Holmes and Senator James Whetmore as well as the Orange Unified School District. Eddy, was also a member of the Riverside Emblem Club, the Eastern Star and was active until her passing with the Women Marines Association. Eddy is survived by her sons, Greg of Denver, CO, David and wife DeeDee of Vista, CA , and Ron and wife Pamela of Riverside, CA. She also had six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The interment service will be held November 14, 2014 at the Riverside National Cemetery at 10:15 am followed by a Celebration of Life at The Grove Community Church, 19900 Grove Community Dr, Riverside, CA 92508.
