Edward B. Hales Obituary
EDWIN B. HALES Eddie was born on November 11, 1939 in Redlands, California at Redlands Community Hospital. He left us peacefully at Loma Linda University Medical Center, December 12, 2012 for his next eternal adventure. His quest for life took him to the far reaches of the world, serving in the Army from 1958-1960. Eddie graduated with a Bachelors degree from the University of Redlands in 1963 and got his Law degree from Hastings Law School, San Francisco in 1963. From 1968-70 his passions found him bull fighting starting his venture with four victories and ending with one loss. Down but not out, Eddie passed the Bar Exam in 1970 and became the third generation to practice law in Redlands. Sailing became an interest, taking his 16' "Hobbies Cat" to the first Hobbies US Nationals in '75 and on to the first World Championships in Hawaii in '76. It was during this time he said,"The skippers job is to break in the crew before the crew breaks up the boat." Eddie had a love for racing and considered the Riverside Raceway to be his own "Fantasy Island" back in the day. From 1990 on, he restored multiple '50s and '60s era 6 cylinder Chevy's. He leaves behind his sister, Catherine F. Stockton and her husband David K. Stockton, three nephews David B. Stockton and his wife Diane and their children Serena and Jake, Ronald E.
