Edward Wesson Anthony Obituary
EDWARD WESSON ANTHONY Age 96, of Moreno Valley, California, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, November 3, 2015 at Air Force Village West Skilled Nursing Facility in Riverside, California with his family by his side. Ed was preceded in death by June Carmen Anthony, his loving wife of 63 years, who passed away May 12, 2004 at the age of 84. He is survived by his two daughters, Eden Elaine Gill, June Ellen Huhn and his son, Stuart Brent Anthony. He was a loving "Grampa" to 7 grandchildren and "Grandad (or "Bagdad") to 11 great-grandchildren. Ed was a kind and generous man who loved his family more than he loved sour cream & onion-flavored potato chips (which was a considerable amount). He was born April 2, 1919 in Batesville, Mississippi to Claude Oscar Anthony and Ola Mae Anthony. He served the U.S. Army during World War II and was transferred to San Diego, California in 1941. There, he met his wife June. They were married that same year. Decades later, the two moved to Moreno Valley, California to be near family. Ed was a devoted fan of the San Diego Padres to the very end, despite the fact that they never won a World Series. (He also enjoyed watching the Los Angeles Dodgers play just so he could root for the other team.) Ed's family will never forget him, and will always remember his larapin' good ice cream, his "coffee money" at Christmas time and never missing a baseball or soccer game.
