Elaine Jane Ringoot Obituary
ELAINE JANE RINGOOT Elaine passed away on the morning of December 3, 2013 in Newport Beach, CA surrounded by her two daughters, Ginette Novello and Viviane Oglevie, and granddaughter, Michelle Oglevie. She was 86 years old. Born in 1927 in Liege, Belgium, Elaine immigrated to America with her family shortly after World War II. She attended Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts where she met and married Frank Novello; they divorced in 1967. She later obtained her Masters Degree in psychology and counseling at Cal State San Bernardino. She went on to teach Early Childhood Development and counseled at Alvord Continuation High School in the Riverside School District for many years until her retirement in 1995. She won the Teacher of the Year award at Alvord CHS several times. A long-time resident of Loma Linda, she suffered a stroke in early August, after which she moved to Newport Beach to live with her youngest daughter Viviane and her family. Elaine will be remembered for her outgoing personality and charming foreign accent, her sense of humor, and her love of teaching and counseling teenagers, and also for her compassion, generosity and strong love for her family. In addition to her two daughters and granddaughter, she is survived by two younger sisters, Yolande O'Banion (Irvine) and Yvette Dufau (Tours, France), and their families. Private services will be held.
