ELEANOR "LAURA" DINKEL FROGGE
Laura (96) was born to Anton and Rose (Younger) Kuhn, Sept. 29, 1920, Ellis County, Ks. She was #9 of 17 children. During World War II she lived in Chicago making parachute straps. In 1942 she married Albert Dinkel. After the war they farmed in Smith County, Ks. In 1957 the family settled on Philbin Ave in Riverside. Laura baked, decorated cakes, crafted, cleaned homes, ironed and did odd jobs. She loved writing letters, averaging 30 a week. She married Melvin Frogge in 1974.
Laura was a parishioner at Queen of Angels for 60 years. She was active in the Al­ tar & Rosary Society, cleaned the church, fed the hungry, worked Hoopo (Bingo) and volunteered at the Hoe-downs.
She is survived by four children: daughters Shirley (Vincent) Kerr of Riverside and Lori (Alex) Contreras of Moreno Valley; sons Joe (Sylvia) Dinkel, Sylvester, Ga. and Pete (Vicki) Dinkel, Apache Junction, Az, 13 grand children, 30 great grandchildren and 13 great-great- grandchildren and 4 siblings. She was preceded in death by both husbands, sons Ken Dinkel, John and wife Kathy Dinkel, her parents and 12 siblings.
Viewing will be on Thursday, July 6: 4-6 at Sierra Memorial Chapel Mortuary. Memorial service and rosary 6-8 pm. Mass of the Resurrection: Monday, July 10 at 10 am at Queen of Angels followed by burial at Crestlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Laura's name to Queen of Angels. We will be purchasing a needed item for the new church.
