Elsie Falter Learmonth Obituary
ELSIE FALTER LEARMONTH We celebrate the life of Elsie Learmonth who passed away October 23, 2016 at the age of 93, surrounded and loved by her family. She lived a life marked by determination, loyalty, dedication to family and friends, love of nature, and enthusiasm for travel and adventure. Mom was a homemaker extraordinaire. She worked as a newspaper reporter for the Press-Enterprise during WWII where she met her husband, George, a veteran and night editor at the paper. For many years she was a librarian for San Bernardino Valley College and later Crafton Hills College. She loved to camp - Easter week and summers at the beach, long trips across the country with family. She traveled across the United States again, after her retirement, with her dog, Sandy, in her pick-up and camper. In later years mom was lucky to share her love of life and travel with her second husband, Erv Belt. Dinners with the family, watching waves at the beach, playing scrabble - she was easy-going and a generous and pleasurable companion. Her children Carolyn, Thomas and Nancy, along with their spouses Mike, Julie and Lon, and all the grandkids -- Amy, Drew, Andrew Mac, Asa and Liam -- will remember her with deep love and appreciation for the example she set of a life well-lived.
