EMETERIO JAMES RODRIGUEZ, JR. Emeterio passed away peacefully at Jerry L. Pettis-Memorial VA Medical Center, Loma Linda, on 1 March 2013. Born July 9, 1928 in Sawtelle, California to Emeterio and Francis Rodriguez. Jimmy attended Pomona schools, graduating from Pomona High School in 1947. He served in the Navy from 1946-1948. A graduate of Northrop Aeronautical Institute, he then served from 1950-1952 in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict as an aircraft mechanic crew chief for the B-26 "Pasadena Pistol Packer", stationed at Puson Korea. After returning, he worked at Lockheed Ontario/Palmdale, then began his career at Rohr Aircraft Corporation, Riverside. Married to Shirley in 1958 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, he raised his children and participated with the St. Thomas Scouts and Catholic Athletic League Boys Baseball teams. Retiring from Rohr, after 33 yrs he then enjoyed the love of grandchildren and Dodger baseball. "Tello" to his Pomona cousins, nephews and nieces, he loved all family events, and was very proud of his son and daughter. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife Shirley Rodriguez; daughter Joanna; son Ruben (Debbie); and grandchildren Ryan and Caylyn. Family members Fr. Arturo Chavez and Fr. Andrew Encinas will conduct a 9:30 rosary with Mass at 10:00 on Thursday, March 14, for Jimmy Rodriguez at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 3774 Jackson St, Riverside, followed by a 12:15 committal service at Riverside National Cemetery.
