Obituary Condolences

ERMINIA 'JERRY' STACEY MAY 21, 1910- AUGUST 20, 2013 Our mother passed away peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 20, in Sacramento. She was born on May 21, 1910 in New York City, the 4th of 5 children. A Riverside resident for 42 years, she was a school librarian for the Alvord Unified School District, and after retirement a docent for the Riverside City Museum. An avid walker and a founding member of the Friends of Mt. Rubidoux, she walked up Mt. Rubidoux every day until she was 91 years old. She was a world traveler, having visited over 120 countries, and with her husband of 70 years, one of the first Americans to visit the Peoples Republic of China after China opened its borders to American tourists. She is survived by her 6 children, Sandra of Vallejo, Marcella of Redlands, Penelope of Sacramento, George of Laguna Woods, Kenneth of Riverside, and Sherman of Newport Beach; also 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She remains in our hearts our loving mother. There will be a private memorial service.
