1929 - 2017

Ernest "Ernie" Keith Parke passed away peacefully on April 14, 2017 at age 87. Ernie was born along with his twin sister Florence Deane on July 30, 1929 in San Bernardino, California to Edward Charles Parke, Sr. & Louise Stonitsch. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kay, brothers Edward Jr, John T, and twin sister Florence Deane.
Ernie spent most of his life in the San Bernardino area. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War from 1952-1957. He graduated from California State Polytechnic College San Luis Obispo in 1961 with a degree in Engineering. He worked as an Highway Engineer for CalTrans in the San Bernardino office from 1958 until his retirement in 1991 with 33 years all in District 8.
In 1962 he married the love of his life, Mary Kathryn "Kay" Hayden and they were married for 49 years until her death in 2011. While married they traveled and cruised throughout the world to more than 65 countries. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews as well as his many CalTrans friends.
Services will be held at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, CA with the viewing on Thursday, April 27 from 4-8 pm and the memorial service on Friday, April 28 at 1:30 pm.
