ETHEL MAY YBARROLA, (97), passed away peacefully on January 27, 2016 in San Diego, CA. She was born on September 14, 1918 in Brea, CA and lived in Nuevo for 60 years, for 3 years in Redlands with her daughter and for 4 years in San Diego with her son and daughter-in-law. Ethel graduated from Fullerton High School and shortly afterward married Frank Ybarrola on July 29, 1936 in Santa Ana. They were partners in life for 72 years until Frank's death in 2008, working, raising a family, traveling and enjoying life with each other. Moving in 1949 to Nuevo in Western Riverside County she and Frank farmed together for over 50 years. While her children were in elementary school she started working part-time for the Nuevo Post Office and 20 years later retired as Postmaster. She was predeceased by her husband Frank and her daughter Diana Spillane. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Tom and Mary Ellen Ybarrola of San Diego; six grandchildren Joan (Allen) Paine, Margaret (Tom) Glover, David (Claudia) Ybarrola, Yvonne Ybarrola, Kathleen Spillane, Tomas (Fabiola) Ybarrola; three great-grandchildren, Sara (James) Gabbert, Melissa Seaburg, Anna Ybarrola; and a great-great grandson Robert Gabbert. Ethel had a voracious appetite for books, crossword puzzles, knitting and jigsaw puzzles, which kept her mind sharp as a tack for all 97 years. She affected everyone she met with her wonderful smile, beautiful blue eyes and positive attitude. She will be missed by all but she's now together with Frank, the love her life and her daughter Diana. Family and friends will gather for a viewing on Monday, February 8 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 27931 Murrieta Rd, Sun City, CA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 with Graveside Committal at Perris Valley Cemetery, followed by a gathering at Menifee Lakes Country Club. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to give to a .
