FERDIE "WAG" WAGONER In the Loving Arms of Jesus 06/04/1923 - 05/12/2014 Hemet -- Ferdie L. Wagoner passed away at home on May 12, 2014 at the age of 90. Mr. Wagoner was born in Odessa, MO on June 4, 1923. He moved to Southern California with his mother in the early '30s. He attended Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, and worked for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach before entering the US Army in 1942. He served in the China-Burma-India theater as a Military Police Officer and was honorably discharged from service after Japan surrendered in 1945. He returned to Southern California where he entered the post-war job market. He met and married Eileen Meehan in 1948 and moved to Hemet in 1951 to run a poultry ranch with his mother. Mr. Wagoner was a student at Mt. San Jacinto Junior College and a member of the first graduating class in 1965. In 1970, he went to work for the State of California as an Employment Development Officer, where he worked with local businesses for 15 years. Upon retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively around the US and overseas. Mr. Wagoner is preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Stricklin. He is survived by his wife of 66 yrs. Eileen, and children Mary Ann Hudson, Mildred Kronfly, Christine Camperell, and Tom Wagoner, as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:45am at the Riverside National Cemetery, staging area, #4, 22495 Van Buren Ave., Riverside, CA 92518.
