1924 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
Fount Jackson, known to family and friends as "Lefty", "Jack" or "Papa Jack", passed on to his heavenly home Friday, January 20, 2017 at the mature age of 92. Born and reared in Mulberry, Arkansas, he ventured to Riverside, California in 1947 after serving in World War II with Company G, 182nd infantry in Bougainville, Solomon Islands, Southern Philippines and Japan. His decorations included the Purple Heart for wounds received April 1, 1945. He worked 33 years for Riverside Public Utilities Electrical Department as a troubleshooter-lineman.
Fount is survived by his wife of 69 years, Doris; his daughters Cathie Giles (David), Pamela Bonzoumet (Larry), grandchildren, Sandi (Brian), Stacie (Clint), Kelli (Jody), Brandon (Nikki) and great grandchildren, Hayden, Hunter, William, Grady, Jack, Lucas, Grace and Samuel.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Arlington Mortuary Chapel, 9645 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA at 11:00 a.m. followed by a procession to the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren, Riverside, CA for the committal service at 1:15 p.m. with Pastor Brian Smith officiating.
He asked so little and gave so much during his earthly years. He was abundantly loved and respected by all.
