Dr.  Francis Matthew Ryan Obituary
DR. FRANCIS MATTHEW RYAN Age 90, of Hemet, CA, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Frank was born in Hillsboro, Oregon on Saturday, August 26, 1922 to John and Mary Anna Ryan. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and went on to achieve his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Doctorate of Optometry degree from Pacific University. Frank valiantly served our country in the United States Army. He served 32 months overseas in the Southwest Pacific, Australia, and New Guinea, receiving his 2nd Lieutenant Commission while overseas. He completed his education after the war and settled in Hemet, CA where he practiced optometry for more than 37 years. Frank was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and then the Chamber of Commerce; charter member and Past President of the Cahuilla Optometric Association; charter member and Past President of the Hemet-San Jacinto Valley Exchange Club; and former member and Past President of the Ramona Pageant Association. He was also an active member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Hemet. Frank is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Beverly Jane Ryan; and his daughter, Molly Arndt. Frank is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Richard) Conrad; daughter, Peggy (Tom) Seville; daughter, Tammy Ryan (Jeanine Delchini); and son Patrick (Barbara) Ryan; grandchildren Carrie (Brian), Brad, Matt (Pari), John, Ryan, Michael (Aleka), and Emily (Ryall); and great grandchild, Kendall. Frank will be laid to rest at a private service at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you may honor Dr. Ryan by donating to the Hemet-San Jacinto Valley Exchange Club, P.O. Box 2391, Hemet, CA 92546. Dr. Ryan touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know him and who loved him.
