Francisco "Frank" Paredes Jr. Obituary
FRANCISCO "FRANK" PAREDES JR. was born on January 14, 1948 to Francisco and Marta Paredes in El Paso, TX. Frank peacefully passed away on New Year's Day 2017 at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, CO. Frank grew up in Santa Fe Springs and Pomona, CA. He earned a degree in both counseling and education. Frank taught high school Spanish, history, and ESL (English as a second language). He went on to become a high school counselor, assistant principal and principle in the Orange County and San Diego areas. Frank's final principalship was at Riverside Poly High School where he served from 1996-2007 (11years). Following his retirement he worked for two years as a consultant for Riverside County Office of Education as a coach and mentor to new principals. Throughout Frank's professional career he made a lasting and positive impact on many students, parents, teachers, and colleagues. However, in Frank's words, "being a principal is what I do, not who I am". Frank was a brave, generous, fun-loving, and loyal friend, step-father, "Papa", and husband. He was also known for his impeccable taste in clothes, jewelry and cars. Frank met Judi Addison Waddell in the Spring of 2001 as they served as principals in Riverside Unified School District. Within three months they were engaged and married one year later on July 26, 2002. Frank and Judi were inseperable and enjoyed shopping, decorating, entertaining, and vacationing to luxury hotels with many elegant meals. Frank and Judi lived in Riverside until June 2016 when they relocated to Parker, CO. Frank loved his new home, changing seasons, and big skies. While Frank was an only child, without children of his own, he embraced Judi's children and extended family as if they were his own. Likewise, they cherished Frank. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Judi Addison Paredes; stepson, Steven (Janna) Waddell, of Riverside, CA; step-daughter Carrie (Corey) Spinks, of Castle Rock, CO; and grandchildren, Pryce and Payson Waddell and Addison Ann Spinks. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on January 28, 2017 at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside, CA. The celebration will be held from 1:30-4:30pm with loving words at 2:30pm.
