Frank Arnold Abacherli Obituary
FRANK ARNOLD ABACHERLI Frank Arnold Abacherli was born on December 10, 1926 in Upland, California. He passed away at home on January 9, 2013. Frank was a first generation Californian, son of Swiss parents, Arnold and Martha Abacherli. Frank grew up working as a dairyman's son on farmland first at Prado Dam and later in Chino. He attended school at Saint George's and Loyola and graduated from Chaffee High School in 1944 after which he enlisted in the Navy. World War II came to an end, yet Frank still shipped out for duty to Japan. As soon as his enlistment ended, Frank began working alongside his father and Uncle John Abacherli at the family dairy. In 1947 he met Shirley Benton at a CYO party. Shirley worked at her mother's malt shop where Frank could eat, drink and date all at once! On May 1, 1949 Frank and Shirley were married at Saint Margaret's Catholic Church in Chino. Frank's life revolved around the dairy, his wife and five children - a life surrounded by family from beginning until end. In December 1981, Abacherli Dairy relocated to Menifee, CA where Frank and Shirley built their dream home on the dairy site with their three sons in partnership. Frank was a dedicated and valued member of the boards of Superior Milk Producers, California Milk Producers and Farm Credit Services. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Martha and his aunt and uncle, Anna and John Abacherli. He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 63 years, and a sister Gertrude McMasters. He is also survived by five children and their spouses, Fred (Lindi) Abacherli, Jeanette (Gary) Sutherlin, Carol (Rod) Jones, Ron (Carolyn) Abacherli, and Jim (Leslie) Abacherli. Eleven grandchildren (Kevin, Robin, Randy, Eric, Anne, Ryan, Brett, Allison, Kimberly, Aliya and Ava) and four great-grandchildren (Ellice, Dylan, McKenzie and River) brought joy to Frank's life. Funeral services for Frank include visitation at Evans Brown Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, from 4-8 pm with a vigil service at 7 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Martha's Catholic Church on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10 am with a reception following. Interment will be private. Frank was an active, devoted member of Saint Martha's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Saint Martha's Church at 37200 Whitewood Road, Murrieta, CA 92563 with a notation "Cathedral Bells".
