Fred "Stormy" Storment Jr. Obituary
FRED "STORMY" STORMENT, JR. Of Corona, California, passed away on April 27, 2013 at the age of 79. Fred was born May 17, 1933 in Walnut Hill (Marion County), Illinois, son of Fred and Audrey (Myers) Storment. He left the area at 17 years old for the Army; where he was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division as a light weapon infantry man, rifle machine gunner, then 60mm motor in that order. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was also a Platoon Sergeant. Fred was in the military from July 1950 to May 1955; most of it in the far east, Japan and Korea. Fred worked 32 years as a claims supervisor for an insurance broker. He and his wife Mary were members of St. Mel's Catholic Church in Norco for many years. Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mary (Mossman) Storment; daughter, Stephanie (Ron) Underdown; son, Rob (Melissa) Storment; grandchildren, Zach Underdown, Garrett & Tim Storment, and his dog, Yahtzee. Fred was preceded in death by his parents along with his brother C. "Mack" Storment and sister in law Shirley (Harris) Storment. Friends will be received at Thomas Miller Mortuary, 1118 E. Sixth St., Corona, California Tuesday, April 30, 2013 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm with Vigil service at 6:00 PM. Services will be held at St. Mel's Catholic Church, 4160 Corona Ave. Norco on, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 9:00 am. Interment will follow in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
