Freddie Lee Johnson Obituary
FREDDIE LEE JOHNSON Freddie Lee Johnson passed away, her family by her side, November 22, 2013 at the age of 79 after a brief illness. She was born in Caddo County, Oklahoma February 15, 1934. She graduated valedictorian of her high school class from Mohawk High School, Marcola, Oregon. Freddie was living in San Bernardino when she met her future husband, James Johnson. They married in 1958 and had one son. Freddie and Jim moved to the Jurupa Valley area in the early 1960s after they purchased Carris Candy Specialties. Freddie resided in Jurupa Valley the rest of her life. Freddie loved to do puzzles of all sorts, especially crossword puzzles. She enjoyed attending plays and musicals at area colleges and Riverside Community Players. One of her favorite hobbies was finding interesting and unique presents for her family and then wrapping them up with beautiful paper and bows. Freddie always looked great and put together, even in the most trying of circumstances. She was an amazingly strong person who, even as she waited for paramedics to arrive, made sure to put her lipstick on and have her comb and brush at the ready. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and sister Carolyn Tingle. She is survived by her son, Mark; her daughter-in-law Kim; her beloved granddaughters Corinne and Elyse; her brother Bill and his husband Maka; her brother Joe and family; and her brother-in-law Jim Tingle and family. A celebration of life will be held January 11, 2014.
