Gail Margaret Lopez Obituary
GAIL MARGARET LOPEZ, born on December 20, 1954, in Charleston, WV, beloved daughter of Miguel and Gloria Lopez, passed away at home after a lengthy illness on July 2, 2016. Gail grew up in La Mirada, CA and graduated from Saint Paul High School, Santa Fe Springs, CA in 1973. She went to work at Disneyland as a permanent employee while attending CSU Fullerton. In the late 1970's she briefly joined the religious community of the Bernardine Sisters in Reading, PA. Although she did not remain in the convent, she never lost her zeal and love for the Catholic Church. She returned to California where she taught second grade class at Epiphany Catholic School in El Monte, CA and then taught P.E. at Saint Paul of the Cross School in La Mirada, CA. Gail later followed her love of exotic places and became a travel agent for American Express, working at their offices in Anaheim, CA, El Segundo, CA, and Buffalo, NY. In 2002, after the tragedy of 9/11, she returned to California to live with her family in Corona until her passing. Gail was predeceased by her mother, Gloria Guilmette Lopez. She is survived by her father Miguel Lopez and stepmother Lupita Lopez of La Mirada, CA; sisters Denise Lopez Conine (Kevin) and Marcie Lopez Rohrich (Marc), both of Corona, CA; stepsister Erin Zazueta of Culiacan, Mexico; her niece Kathryn Meister of New York City, NY; her nephews Christopher Meister of Corona and Marc Joseph Rohrich of Hesperia, CA; her aunt Violet Teal and uncles Mike Guilmette (Sharon) and Tom Guilmette of Fort Erie, Canada, her uncle Ed Lopez of Lakewood, CA, numerous cousins, and many friends. Services for Gail will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016, at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church in La Mirada, CA. A Rosary will take place at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Mass for Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM. A reception will follow after the Mass.
