1940 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
GAYNELL "LANE" BROTHERS On the morning of May 3, 2015, the lord needed an angel and knew he had to look no further. He called our mom, sister, nana, auntie, cousin and friend, Gaynell "Lane"Brothers home to be among the best. Gaynell Brothers was born on February 8, 1940, in Valdosta, Georgia to her adoring parents, Edward and Annie Lou Lane. Gaynell was very active in the Riverside community and always thought of ways to give back to the community. Her innate ability to connect to children availed her an opportunity to work as an administrative aide at Val Verde Elementary school for 28 years. She created her own niche and following at the school with many children referring to her as, "mom bro." That label always made her smile and she realized there was great responsibility to the children who glorified her with such a name. Her accepting nature was contagious to all that knew Gaynell. Gaynell was preceded in death by her devoted husband on November 27, 2001 and her brothers Lewis Lane and Charlie Williams. She leaves behind many relatives to carry on the gift of giving and rejoice in her memory. They include her children: Valerie Adams of Riverside, California; Derek Brothers of Davis, California; Cassandra "Cassie"Brothers of Anaheim, California; and Jerry Brothers of Riverside, California. Her four grandchildren: Laurence Adams Jr, BreeAnna Brothers, Trey Brothers and Derek Tyler Smith-Brothers. Her siblings: Mary Terry, Thomas Lane, Freddy Williams, Ida Williams, Jimmie Williams, Betty Williams, Lilly Lane and her nephews Edward Smith and Lewis Lane; Nieces Edith Jennings, Karen Williams, Shalanda Gordon, and Barbara Ferles plus many many friends. Gaynell will be greatly missed but we will cherish each and every memory that she has given to us.
