GENE B. RENCK, 79, of Fullerton, California, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his home in Fullerton, surrounded by those who loved him. A viewing will be held at the First Lutheran Church of Fullerton (215 N. Lemon Street) on Saturday, May 30 at 9:30a.m., followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Darryl Kozak beginning at 11a.m. Light refreshments will be served after. On Monday, June 1, family and friends are invited to attend the burial at Olivewood Memorial Park (3300 Central Ave) in Riverside at 11:30a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Orange Empire Chorus (by mail to P.O. Box 3331, Fullerton, California, 92834), or to Guide Dogs for the Blind (http://www.guidedogs.com/site/PageServer ?pagename=help_donate). Gene was born on June 28, 1935 in Riverside, California. He graduated from Riverside Poly High School in 1953 and from the California State College at Los Angeles in 1958 with a Bachelor's Degree in Deaf Education. He taught deaf children at Madison Elementary in Santa Ana for eight years. He subsequently received his Master's Degree in Audiology. After two years working as an audiologist in Grossmont, California, Gene and Jeanette moved back to Orange County, where Gene again taught deaf children and practiced audiology in the California School District in Buena Park. He went into private audiology practice in 1977 in Anaheim and worked until 2003. After he retired, he and Jeanette enjoyed traveling in their motor home. As members of the Pacific Trailer Club, they visited friends and family all over the country. Gene loved to sing in the Fullerton Orange Empire Chorus where he was a member for 45 years, and to take care of his family, friends, and neighbors. Gene is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Jeanette Bleser Renck; his son Richard (current wife, Anneliese), with his ex-wife Cathy and their three daughters, Sherri of Bozeman, Montana, Gina (husband, Travis Hess) of Henderson, Kentucky, and Cassandra of Bellevue, Washington; his son Kenneth, with his wife Allison and their son, Dustin of Carlsbad, and daughter, Charlene (husband, Mike Noce) of San Francisco; his brother Paul Renck (wife, Betty) of Riverside, California; his sister-in-law, Donna Renck, and numerous nieces and nephews.
