Obituary Condolences

GEORGE A. BROWN April 20, 1929 - July 14, 2013 Born April 20, 1929 to Clem and Rosa Brown in Hillsdale Michigan. George was the youngest and of 9 brothers and sisters. Happily married over 65 years to his wife Julia, who survives him along with his sons Chris and Jay; his daughters-in-law Anna and Cindy; and his grandson Matthew. George enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After working for many years as a pressman, George became part owner and manager of A & D printing in Colton. After this he became general manager of Rubidoux Printing in Riverside, a post which he held until his retirement in 1986. After retirement when not traveling, George and Julia continued to live in Riverside where they could be close to the rest of their family. A constant tinkerer, George was the creator of a specific type of silver graphic process for etching artwork onto photographic plates; many of which are still displayed in their home today. Hospitalized the last 5 years of his life, even in illness, his good nature and sense of humor continued to charm not only his family but all who met him.
