George Rudd Obituary
GEORGE E. RUDD George passed away peacefully in his home in Capistrano Beach, CA on October 3, 2012 at age 89. He was born on May 8, 1923 in Edmonton, Canada to Clause and Della Rudd. George moved to the United States in 1931 with his parents, uncle, aunt and cousin Robert Rudd. His family owned and operated a market on the corner of 8th and Joy in Corona for many years. (The building still remains.) George began his career at age 10 delivering food on his bicycle to clients around the local area. Later George would own his own liquor store. His entrepreneurship didn't stop there. He moved on to open The Encore restaurant in L.A. on Restaurant Row. He opened many more restaurants in Corona and Riverside including the Jolly Fox Inn and Coachman. During his spare time he would share his passion of cars, boats and planes with his family and friends. George served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy as a tool designer. He shared his life and the things he owned and treasured with the people he loved. He was very giving to others and helped those in need. He had a soft heart for animals especially dogs and owned many of them during his life. George is survived by his son Dan Rudd and his wife Nancy; daughter Marcy Parsons and husband Bill; three grandchildren, Derek and Matthew Rudd and Morganne Shorts; cousins, Maxine Rudd and Bob Rudd and wife Janel; and all of the beloved caregivers especially Beverly who was his angel on earth. Private services will be held at Sea. As George enters the gates of Heaven he will be saying his favorite saying, "This Is An Oh My God."
