George "Smokey" Siket

1950 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
GEORGE "SMOKEY" SIKET Age 66, died on Easter Sunday, March 27th, 2016 in Riverside, CA. Born January 26th, 1950 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by parents Betty Siket, George Siket, and step- mother Mary Siket. Survived by sister Sandra Worsham and husband Roy Worsham of Somerset, PA. Also survived by cousins, three nieces, and a special great-niece, Abigail Grace. A graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Served in the U.S. Marines. He was dedicated to U.S Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Smokey was a generous, kind and unselfish man, he always put others first, he greeted everyone with a smile and treated everyone with love and respect. He always gave to the most vulnerable. He supported financially and morally the causes he believed in. He was a man of many gifts; he brought joy to all whom he knew, one of his many gifts was generosity, he took it upon himself to make sure every child would have a smile on Christmas as they open the toys Smokey made possible for them to receive. That was no easy task but it was by far his passion to make sure every child had gifts to open for Christmas. He personally went out into the community and established relationships with many businesses to collect toys for the children. He made sure the Marines delivered their share of the toys and for over 15 years along with his friends at Catholic Charities we delivered toys and joy to thousands of children. Many families were blessed because of Smokey's generosity and love for the children in his community, He did not just sit back and watch the less fortunate suffer, he did something about it. For that and much, much more we will forever be grateful. He has gone home, but his spirit remains among those of us who had the pleasure of knowing him and called him friend. He is not physically present but he leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, strength and kindness that will live on long after we are gone. "The Steps of a Godly Man are Ordered by The Lord" There is no doubt God lead all his steps along his journey for great things were accomplished. Smokey was a remarkable man and a great friend he will be greatly missed and forever be in our hearts. Visitation and service will be held at the Pathway Christian Church, 6755 Victoria Ave., Riverside , CA, on April 9th, 2016 from 10:30am to 12:30pm with service to follow with Roy Worsham officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Toys for Tots. There will be a box at the visitation.
