Gordon James Metzger Obituary
GORDON JAMES METZGER December 3, 1963-February 3, 2013 On February 3, 2013, our brother, Gordon James Metzger (49), returned home to our heavenly father. Gordon came into the world December 3, 1963, in Newport Beach, California. He resided in Southern California for much of his life. Gordon was a free spirit, a generous and very ingenious person. He was creative and passionate for invention, always trying to simplify things. Gordon had a deep appreciation for carpentry and was exceptionally skilled at his trade. To be Metzger, gave Gordon strength and pride, a trait founded by his father. He was proud of his heritage, toughness, and the legacy of being a third generation carpenter. Gordon also had a great sense of humor and a love for animals. Being naturally athletic, his pastimes were motorcycle riding, surfing, and fishing. When Gordon was a teenager, he liked long walks on the beachreally, really, long walks on the beach; he was known to take off on hiatus (barefoot) up the coast of California or to hitchhike across the country to the Florida coast. Gordon is survived by many family members: grandfather (Roy Cameron Herald), mother (Terry Darlene Metzger), and brothers (Bryan John and Eric Christopher Metzger). Gordon's family, including nieces, nephews, and extended family celebrate his life. Our family will remember his vibrant and passionate personality. A memorial service for Gordon will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the home of David and Paige Valles. Family and friends may contact Sandra Valles-Metzger or Jill Metzger for more details. Blue Balloons, for you bro, Blue Balloons.
