1924 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
GORDON ROY JOHNSON 7/21/1924 - 11/30/2015 Gordon said that GOD loved him! This amazing man has gone to be with our heavenly father. Gordon was a native son of San Bernardino, CA. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy and was on the Destroyer USS Heerman when he survived one of the fiercest battles of the Pacific. He also served on USS Dixie, USS McCord and USS Tassiug. Gordon was an honest and a hard-working man throughout his life. He had innate intelligence that enabled him to overcome a poor beginning during the great depression and establish a comfortable living for his family. At times, he even worked in three different jobs at the same time to support his family. He owned Argo Lake Moving business and retired from being a Psychiatric Technician to then continue working as property owner/ manager. His hard-working approach was instilled in all others around him. Gordon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia; three children, Brenda, Clyde and Karen; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon and Virginia were inseparable being each other's whole world. The graveside service will take place at the Mt. View Cemetery on Thursday, December 10, at 1:00 PM.
