Gregory Dale Pepiot Obituary
GREGORY DALE PEPIOT
On Sunday, July 16, 2017, with quiet grace and surrounded by his family, our cherished dad, son, brother, and good friend, Gregory Dale Pepiot slipped the bonds of this earth and ascended to his heavenly home into the waiting arms of our Savior.
Born May 21, 1958 in Seattle, Washington to Warren and Norma Pepiot, Greg was the heir to the family name, which he proudly represented in his 59 years. He enjoyed the journey and lived each day for those he loved.
Greg was preceded in death by his father Warren. He is survived by his mother, Norma; his three beloved children: sons Gregory (Bethany) and Gavin (Sofia), and daughter Taylor (Chris); his stepsons Danny Kain (Leslie) and Kirk Thompson; his precious grandson Hayden Pepiot; his sisters Geneva Oaks (Don), Geri Hunt (Tom) and Gina Sutton (Don), as well as his nieces and nephews who all adored their "Uncle Pep".
At La Sierra High School in Riverside, Ca., Greg was an All-Riverside County Football player earning distinction for being the first to be awarded both titles on the Offensive and Defensive squads. As a natural leader, his professional career flourished as a construction company owner, and later as Head of Maintenance and Operations at a Christian camp based in the mountains surrounding Lake Gregory, Ca. It was here, an area he loved dearly, where he raised his children.
Greg was known for his optimism and fearlessness. He never turned down a request to assist another, especially his family. From restoring a historical mountain home to road-tripping to visit his nephews and nieces across the West Coast, Greg was there to be on your team and smile along with you.
"My time has almost run out. Very soon I will be on my way to heaven. I have fought long and hard for my Lord, and through it all I have kept true to him. And now the time has come for me to stop fighting and rest." 2 Timothy 4:6b-7
Greg worked tirelessly to provide a wonderful, nurturing life for his children, to care for his mother, and to always love his dear sisters who each cherished him. He was a trusted friend to many, whom will miss him always until the day we each meet again in Heaven.
Services to celebrate the life of Greg Pepiot will be held on Saturday, July 22. At the request of the family, and with respect to all, the service will be private amongst relatives and loved ones. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that donations in Greg's remembrance be made to: Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club, PO Box 2228, Crestline, CA 92335.
