Harry Bradford Frey Obituary
HARRY BRADFORD FREY 1923-2014 Harry Bradford Frey passed away suddenly on Monday, May 26, 2014. Harry was born on February 26, 1923 in Moline, Illinois. His parents were Helen Mary Somers and Harry Frey, MD. Harry married Kathleen McGladrey in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1944. They were married for almost 70 years. Harry graduated from the University of Iowa with a medical degree, and while attending the university, he excelled on the football field. After additional education, he received his advanced degree in otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat), following in his father's footsteps as an eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist. After working more than 35 years practicing medicine in a private practice and at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, California, he continued to enjoy watching and playing tennis, golfing, fishing and RVing. Harry and Kathleen explored the 48 contiguous states in their various motorhomes (including two trips to Alaska). They began their RV journey in the seventies in a 25 foot motorhome with four children and numerous pets and ended up in a 40 foot motorhome with slideouts. In addition, for thirty years they attended the Master's Tennis Tournament in Indian Wells and saw it grow into a popular international event. Their love for tennis took them to Wimbledon and the US Open in New York. Another cherished activity in New York was annually attending seven plays in six days and sampling the ethnic cuisine. Harry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathleen, and their children, Kathryn, Linda, Laurie, and Shelley; their grandchildren are Jamie and Sarah.
