RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA - Hector Lira Carranza, 53, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1720 while comfortably resting. Born October 29, 1963 in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, he lived most his childhood into his teen years in Seeley, CA. He ventured into San Diego; then Riverside where he spent most of his adult life, and TX for a short period too. He was an animal lover, avid automotive enthusiast, the biggest most passionate Padres and 49ers fan, a hydraulic mechanic by trade, always the life of the party, a Marine and a devoted Catholic.
Graduating from Central Union High in June of '82 in El Centro, CA, he excelled for 4 yrs. in Marching Band, Cross Country for 3, Jazz-Rock Combo for 1, and Track all 4 yrs., lettering in Varsity Cross Country.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. in 1989. Awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal twice, MUC (Meritorious Unit Commendation), Rifle Expert Badge (3rd Award), Sea Service Deployment Ribbons as well as many other accolades. Hector was a proud Marine.
Hector was preceded in death by his father Ramond Avilez (May 6, 2017) whom he admired and cherished. Hector was able to visit with his father prior to his passing.
He is survived by his mother Maria Avilez of Heber, CA; sisters Mona Avilez Kirchhof husband (Mark) and Alma Flores Glazner (Kevin); brothers Jose Carranza, Martin Avilez and Johnny Avilez wife (Sandra); Uncle Gabriel Aviles of Perris, CA; numerous cousins and many, many families and friends who were his brothers and sisters.
A Private family viewing was held on Friday, May 26th. Everyone is invited to attend his Funeral Service which is being held on Friday, June 9th at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA at 12 o'clock noon.
