HELEN LOUISE BUCHANAN

She was born December 5, 1925 in Providence, Rhode Island to Kathleen and Allan Mardenborough and was the eldest of four girls. Once retired she pursued her life-long interest in painting and became an artist, mostly working with oil paints. She is survived by eight children: Frances, Kathleen Clark (Tom), Margaret Castro, Carolyn Enger (Cliff), Paul, Elizabeth Waid (Robert), Patricia, and Joan Potts (James), as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Verria of Providence, R.I. and Patricia (Vincent) Marcello of The Villages, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, her sister Ruth Huss, and her son-in-law Ernest Castro. A funeral mass will be held on February 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., St. Martha Catholic Church, 37200 Whitewood Road, Murrieta. Burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband.
