Helen Louise Greene Obituary
HELEN LOUISE GREENE (STODDARD) Age 79, passed away October 10, 2013, in Corona, Calif. Born November 28, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the only child of Lewis and Ola (Oaks) Stoddard. Helen married the love of her life, Don Richard Greene, on March 24, 1951. They were married 52 years and together they built a lasting legacy. Some of her hobbies and interests included showing horses, breeding horses, and Colorado River water skiing trips. She was an excellent seamstress and created many "originals by Helen" for herself, Don, her children and her many grandchildren. Helen had a passion for reading and dancing. As a couple, Helen and Don won many "Fifties" dance contests and participated in many Country Line Dancing events. She was extremely understanding, kind, and loving with a great sense of humor. Helen was a very accomplished horsewoman from an early age. She loved trail riding and was very involved with the Horse Club in La Cresta, Calif. She was the historian for the club newsletter. Helen loved her La Cresta horse property. She designed and built her La Cresta home with Don. Many happy memories with the entire family were made "at the ranch". Helen was preceded in passing by her husband Don of 52 years. She is survived by her son, Terry Greene and wife Cori; daughters, Sherry Walker (Greene) and husband Gary, and Pamela Shaffstall (Greene) and husband Steve, as well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The grandchildren are: Jaimi Park (Greene) Stephanie Femimo (Greene), Drew Greene, Shelly Komara (Walker), Wendy Weyl (Walker), Scott Shaffstall and Tiffany Shaffstall. The great grandchildren include: Elle and Kinsey Komara, Gwendolyn and Cash Weyl, and Camryn and Alissa Park. Helen was deeply loved and she will be deeply missed. Rest in peace our "Angel Mommy". A public graveside service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Gate 19, on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, Calif. 90601.
