Helen Nola Anthony Obituary
Age 81, of Murrieta, California, passed away May 1, 2017 in Temecula, California after a long battle with cancer with her family at her side. Helen was born in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Lois Rigby on July 19, 1935. She went to Gardena High School in California and graduated in 1954. Helen was married to Clayton A. Anthony on March 30, 1957.
Helen and Clayton settled in Torrance, California where they had two daughters, Lisa and Carla. Helen worked for over twenty years in the chemistry department at California State University Dominquez Hills in Carson, California.
After retiring, Helen and Clayton moved to Murrieta California. Helen was very active in her "colony community" and participated in many organizations; to include, Tai Chi group, the Singles Dinner group, and her weekly poker group. Helen was an avid reader and volunteered for many years at the "Friends of the Murrieta Library" book store.
Helen is survived by her brother, Fred Rigby and her two daughters, Lisa Johnson and her husband Tage and their three children, Eric, Alyssa and David; and Carla Fraser and her husband Mike and their daughter Aimee and son Michael and great-granddaughter Emma. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton and her granddaughter Mallory.
In lieu of flowers it was Helen's wish that donations be made on her behalf to either the Institute or the Friends of the Murrieta Library.
There will be a celebration of Helen's life on June 8, 2017, 1-3PM at the Colony Clubhouse, 40710 Avenida Florita, Murrieta, CA 92562.
