Helen (Margaret) Noreikas Obituary
HELEN (MARGARET) NOREIKAS, born on June 4, 1918, passed away on February 6, 2016 at the age of 97. Her surviving relatives are her two sons Clarence J. Noreikas (Faye) and Michael D. Noreikas (Julie); her daughter Judy Arons (Mike); granddaughters Karen Brown (Scott) and Pam Balmaseda (Guillermo); grandsons Daniel Noreikas and Chris Seibert; great-grandson Evan Spurlock (Patty); great-granddaughters Amanda Balmaseda and Elena Balmaseda; grandchldren Don Arons and Terri Jaschek; great-grandchildren Nicole Jaschek, Katy McCune (Shaun), Malcolm Arons; great-great granddaughter Nala Jaschek. Helen is also survived by four sisters Ann Barkauskas, Lillian Brown, Virginia Morrow and Agnes Winters, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her. Preceded in death by her parents Ursula and Bernard Naginis, Sr., both of whom immigrated from Lithuania, and her sister Mary Pientka and brother Bernard Naginis, II. Helen was also preceded in death by her husband Clarence C. Noreikas, who owned Riverside TV and Appliance with his sons Clarence and Mike,. Also preceded by her grandson, Mikey Noreikas and great-grandson Alex Balmaseda. Helen moved with her husband Clarence and 3 children from Dayton, Ohio to Riverside, CA in 1950. Helen was a seamstress in Dayton and in Riverside for 55 years. She worked for her father who learned to tailor in his native Lithuania. Bernard Naginis, Sr. owned Naginis' Tailor Shop on 8th Street in downtown Riverside, CA. Helen had many talents, including cooking, carpentry, making great Halloween costumes, sand boxes for her children, covered wagons for her sons, sewing beautiful baptismal gowns for the babies in the family and being a terrific Mom and Grandma, and with her wit she would make you laugh. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, 2/24/16 at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 4-8pm, with rosary at 6pm that evening. Mass will be held on Thursday, 2/25.16 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church on Arlington Ave. at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Olivewood Cemetery, followed by a reception to be announced. A special thank you to R.J. Luz and Manny for their loving care for our mom. And thank you to Morning Star Hospice for their help those last days of our mom's life.
