Born June 8, 1916, in New Castle, Ind., to the late Thomas William Mastin and Minnie Lee Garner Mastin, she was a 30-year resident of Riverside County, primarily in Lake Elsinore, with her late husband, Harry S. She is survived by a daughter Pat (Bill) Hopper of Menifee, and sons Ronald Lee Canaday (Karen) Arnold of Columbus, Ind., and Jay (Karen) Arnold of Burke, Va., along with eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Lewellen was the former owner of the Arnold Laboratories veterinary pharmaceuticals business in New Castle, Ind., which she took over following the death in 1950 of her husband Dr. John J. Arnold, DVM. She was a member of the New Castle Chamber of Commerce and served as president and treasurer of the hospital auxiliary. Mrs. Lewellen helped revive the Lake Elsinore Historical Society in the 1995 and served as its president and treasurer. She also was president of the Lake Elsinore Genealogical Society and was active in the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and AARP. She made memorable chocolate cakes, cherished Louis L' Amour westerns, and collected owl and lighthouse art. She was a huge fan of the Lake Elsinore Storm and Los Angeles Angels baseball teams. Mrs. Lewellen was preceded in death by three brothers Thomas, Donald and Floyd Mastin and sisters Ethel Kern and Charlotte Walker.
