Irma Olsen Ytreeide Obituary
IRMA OLSEN YTREEIDE Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Irma Olsen Ytreeide passed away July 7, 2013 at the age of 91. Throughout her life she gave unselfishly, loved abundantly, and was devoted to her family. A woman of strong Christian faith, she was proud of her Danish heritage and her Iowa roots. Irma was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on December 8, 1921 to Minard Emil Olsen and Laura Marie Abalone Nelsen Olsen. During the Depression years her family moved to Santa Monica and then Bakersfield, CA in 1938. In 1943 she fell in love with and married Paul A. Ytreeide and moved to Long Beach, CA. After many happy years in Long Beach, they moved to Indio, CA. After Paul's death Irma moved to Palm Desert, and then in 2006 to Riverside to be closer to her daughter and family. Irma loved to travel, participate in church activities and spend time with her family. She was a kind and gentle soul and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul A. Ytreeide; her son Paul A. Ytreeide, Jr., and her brother Delbert Olsen. She is survived by her son, Bruce Ytreede of Newport Beach; her daughter Eileen Milam and husband Jim of Riverside; granddaughters Julie Milam and Lisa Graves (husband Ryan), and great-grandsons Kyle and Ben Graves. A special thank you on behalf of the family to the caregivers at Victoria Villa and Charter Hospice. Graveside services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at 10:00am on Monday, July 22, followed by a 12:00pm Memorial Service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 5545 Alessandro Blvd., Riverside, CA.
