JACK (JOHN ARTHUR) LENERTZ passed away August 8, 2014, in Riverside, CA. As were his wishes, private family services will be held at a later date. Jack was born in Los Angeles, CA, August 24, 1939, to Jack and Doris Lenertz. When he was 12, his family moved to the Rubidoux-Riverside area where he attended Riverside schools and lived most of his adult life. In 1962, Jack enlisted as a cadet in Naval Air Training at Pensacola, FL. During Vietnam he proudly served as a Naval Aviator, Helicopter Pilot, attached to Anti-Submarine Squadron HSRON 6 and completed two tours of search and rescue duty aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Kearsarge. Lieutenant Lenertz was honorably discharged in 1967. Jack received his business degree from Cal Poly Pomona, and worked a number of years in his family owned businesses in Rubidoux - Western Auto and True Value Hardware. He was later the co-owner of Western Athletic Supply in Riverside. While stationed in Pensacola early in his naval career, Jack met his wife, Patricia Gayle (Pat) Freeman, a student at FSU. In December, 2013 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Jack is survived by his wife, Pat, his two sons and their families: John Arthur (Michele) Lenertz and their children, John, Tristian and Ashlynn; and Talmadge Alan (Kimberlee) Lenertz and their children T. Alex and Gillian. He is also survived by his brother, George A. (Linda) Lenertz and sister Laurie (Charlie) Lenertz Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.
