Jack Leon Skinner Obituary
Jack Leon Skinner of Corona California, age 91, passed on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Corona Regional Hospital. He was born August 17, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to Ralph and Portia Skinner and was the older of two brothers. He is survived by his two sons Doug and wife Beth, Larry and wife Theresa, his younger brother Roy and wife Bobbi and their two daughters Teri and Husband Guy, Erin and Husband Don, loving step daughter Jami Jones and husband Wolf and their 3 children: sons: Cooper and Hudson, and daughter London.
Jack "Pop's" was a loving Father and WW II Veteran "Tin Can Sailor" serving in the South Pacific on the USS Porterfield. He always loved the ocean, mountains, rivers, watching Jami's children grow up and participate in sports and other school activities, and our doggies Mikki, Mellie, and Ruby Begonia. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed scuba diving, water skiing, body surfing, power boating, sailing, Upland game and duck hunting, but most of all fishing. His favorite places were the Sierra's, Catalina and Morro Bay. He was considered the "Guru" of surf fishing in Morro Bay and was sought out by many for advice and technique. He was unbelievably generous and willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
We love him deeply. He has been our father, our friend, our strength, our wisdom, and our moral compass. We miss him deeply and always will.
