JAMES A. SIDES James A. Sides passed away peacefully on November 28, 2013 at the age of 85. Born and raised in Missouri, James was an avid outdoorsman and loved a good adventure. James moved to California, and quickly became acclimated to Southern California. He served in the United States military during World War II as Sergeant First Class in a Tank Unit. James would often state that it was a privilege to serve his country, and was proud to be a veteran. His career included working with the City of Anaheim Planning Commission, was part owner of Hardin Oldsmobile and had his own dealership in Ventura, CA. James was known for many years as the leading Cadillac sales person in Orange County. He was recognized both locally and nationally for his outstanding achievement in Cadillac sales. James was a 32nd degree Mason, and was very involved with Shriners. James was passionate about hunting, fishing and golf. His stories would leave many amazed, laughing and thoroughly entertained. James is survived by his sons Charles, James and Robert, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at noon at The First Baptist Church, 29029 Murrieta Rd., Sun City, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project or Shriners Hospital.
